Two Virgina Tech students have been charged with the murder of a missing 13-year-old girl, according to the Blacksburg, VA police. David Eisenhauer and Natalie Keepers have been charged with felonies after the murder of Nicole Lovell.
Virginia Tech student David Eisenhauer, 18, was charged with murder and abduction in the killing of 13-year-old Nicole Lovell; fellow VT student Natalie Keepers, 19, was charged with helping David get rid of the body, according to Blacksburg, Virginia police on Friday, January 29. Both students are being held without bond at the Montgomery County Jail in Virginia.
This is truly sickening. Nicole, who lived in Blacksburg, Virginia, where Virginia Tech is located, went missing on November 27, 2015. Her body was discovered in Surry County, North Carolina (near the Virginia border), on Saturday, January 30, by police. The day prior, officers who were investigating Nicole’s case were led to David’s home. On Saturday morning, they charged the student with one count of felony abduction. But on Saturday afternoon, Nicole’s body was discovered; his charges were updated to first-degree murder.
Natalie was then arrested and charged with one felony count of improper disposal of a dead body, and one misdemeanor count of accessory after the fact in the commission of a felony, according to police. It has not been made clear how Natalie and David are connected. The only thing known about David and Nicole’s connection is that they “were acquainted prior to her disappearance,” according to police — whatever that may mean.

“Eisenhauer used this relationship to his advantage to abduct the 13-year-old and then kill her. Keepers helped Eisenhauer dispose of Nicole’s body,” police said on January 31, the day after David and Natalie’s arrest. Virginia Tech President Tim Sands wrote an open letter on Saturday, January 30: “Speaking on behalf of our community, let me say that our hearts go out to Nicole’s family and friends. As a father, as well as Virginia Tech’s president, I want to reassure you that our community is supportive and resilient.”

Nicole’s body is at the Office of the Medical Examiner in Roanoke, Virginia awaiting an autopsy to determine the official cause of death. Virginia State Police did report that divers had searched ponds on the Virginia Tech campus at the request of the Blacksburg police department, in connection to Nicole’s case. This is unfathomably awful! The investigation into Nicole’s disappearance and death is still ongoing.
